Do not treat the phrase “Catalog Expansion” as a confirmed purchasable ship module, a release date or an official expansion announcement. This site’s earlier explanation assigned it a developer history and replacement mechanism without adequate primary evidence. Those claims have been withdrawn.
What the official progression announcement says
In June 2026, game director Mikael Eriksson described plans to overhaul ship modules and develop additional ships with distinct progression. The announcement did not give a release date for the first new ship. A development plan is different from an item being available in your current client.
Three questions that should stay separate

We have not established a primary source proving the earlier claim that a particular executive confirmed the string’s internal purpose or that Circuit Expansion replaced it. Similar wording or a community screenshot does not establish either conclusion.
If you cannot buy an entry
Record its exact label, game version and any requirements or error shown. Check whether you are viewing an announced future feature, a prerequisite you have not met or a client problem. Do not spend money on the assumption that an unavailable entry promises new equipment. For a reproducible error, submit the details to official player support.
Plan a real upgrade instead
Choose an upgrade visible in your own ship menu. Copy its listed effects and supported equipment, then compare the cost with your inventory. An upgrade that benefits a tool you never equip may be a poor next purchase even when its effect is attractive.
