A Warbond is a catalogue of unlockable equipment. Choosing one means checking two separate budgets: the currency needed to open the catalogue and the medals needed to reach and buy the items you want. Start with an actual item, not a universal tier label.
Standard, Premium and Legendary Warbonds

Arrowhead’s Warbond explanation describes page access through accumulated medal spending. Medal spending on different pages of the same Warbond counts towards its progression. Opening a catalogue therefore does not put every item directly into your inventory.

These are catalogue examples from official announcements, not performance rankings. A package containing an appealing weapon can still be a poor first purchase if you have no immediate use for its other equipment. Follow the individual announcement links below to inspect what each package contains.
What a Premium Warbond Token changes
The token FAQ says the token claims a Premium Warbond without spending Super Credits. It does not make a Legendary Warbond eligible. Verify whether your edition or upgrade included a token and whether you have already used it before planning around one.
Killzone has an additional ownership exception: the official announcement grants the catalogue to qualifying earlier paid purchasers and preserves already owned item unlocks. Players who only received the earlier gifted items have a different route. Read the original eligibility explanation rather than assuming that any old item in your inventory qualifies you.
A useful comparison before you spend
For each candidate, write down the exact item you want, the opening price shown to your account, its medal price and the page requirement. Calculate the opening gap separately from the medal path. If the item is on a later page, look at useful earlier purchases rather than treating every required medal as wasted.
For example, if one candidate contains a tool you will use now while another mainly contains cosmetics you like, compare those goals explicitly. A style purchase is a valid preference; it simply answers a different question from filling a missing squad role. Existing Warbonds remain available, so a release date alone is not a reason to hurry a purchase.
