Helldivers 2 Terminid Loadouts: Plan Movement and Threat Coverage

Build a Terminid loadout around your mission and the squad’s gaps. The previous guide promised fixed kill outcomes, a 70% damage reduction from a Guard Dog and a universal armor rule; those unsupported claims have been removed.

New to the game? Start with the beginner guide. Choosing equipment? Use the loadout selection guide to connect weapon, support and squad roles.

Assign tasks before choosing items

The official co-op overview uses armored Terminid threats as an example of why squads coordinate equipment. It does not establish one mandatory loadout for all bug missions.

Task Loadout question
Frequent encounters while moving Can your routine equipment handle the situations you meet without exhausting the response saved for another threat?
A threat your primary cannot address Which player covers it, and what is the backup if that player is separated?
Completing an objective Who performs the task while others cover the area?
Moving between tasks Does your equipment require retrieval or stationary use that conflicts with the route?

A squad example

Suppose one player has selected a tool for an armored threat and another is concentrating on repeated smaller encounters. A third player can look for a missing support or objective role instead of copying the first player’s entire loadout. If the first player is often unavailable when needed, a second response may still be reasonable. Overlap is a choice to discuss, not automatically a mistake.

Separate movement problems from equipment problems

Record whether a failed attempt involved being unable to move, inability to affect a target or running out of a useful tool. These are different problems. A new weapon will not necessarily fix a poorly timed objective attempt, and an armor change should not be advertised as a guaranteed solution.

Check a claimed weakness before relying on it

Use the exact target part and current build when reviewing penetration claims. This site no longer promises a universal medium-penetration kill through a Bile Titan’s open mouth or a fixed three-second Impaler kill. See the dated damage evidence for how to interpret a claim.

After the mission

Keep one clear change for the next attempt: coverage, equipment familiarity or task timing. A loadout you can use consistently is a better basis for comparison than changing everything to match an untested “meta” list.
